When someone enters the dark room of creative productions to create something for the social good, with a package of certain essential realizations, it’s definite that the Indian ‘blind literates’ will make attacking moves upon the negative connotations that they will give birth from the very work itself. It is from this very personal opinion that I would like to share with you how wholeheartedly I’ve enjoyed watching Rajkumar Hirani’s PK movie, that too in the joy of having such wonderful audience.

In response to many of my friends’ queries, I must say, that PK is not a controversial movie. A controversy is a kind of deliberate allegation against an individual or an organisation etc. Most of the times, controversies lacks solid evidences to prove them. Thus PK is actually a strong argument as well as statement, placed before the spectators’ own court of justice, to be either validated or rejected, and for me, the work is highly valid in all respects. I really felt ashamed to realise with my own eyes how worse has our political conscience nowadays become to admire the ‘Nil powerful’ ‘Artificial Gods & Godesses’ instead of the ‘All powerful’ ‘GODS’ who created us. The movie is a mirror positioned against the height of stupidities we, the Indian population are being engaged in, in the name of the ‘Omnipotent’ nature of the God that we’ve read from our own sacred-books.

Previously, Rakesh Roshan had given a try through the fiction work ‘Koi Mil Gaya’, to analyse how insecure the mankind itself, relations and the life in this world has become, having narrated through the eyes of the Alien. The movie happens to be remembered at this occasion because PK also follows somewhat the same path of narration to portray how dangerously the dis-beliefs, mis-beliefs, superstitions, money-for-lust-idea, religious in-tolerances and et al. crept our lives & plays a significant role in guiding our important decisions in life.

I’m totally disappointed about the blind-fold protests going on round the country, demanding the withdrawal/censorship of PK, stating that the entire movie, its treatment, some particular visuals and the script has wounded the religious sentiments, which they say is unpatriotic. And lemme ask you my dear ‘literate’ political ideologist, how do you define the term ‘religion’? Arguing for a good cause means wounding the religious sentiments? And how many of you (I mean the protesters) have watched & absorbed the movie in its fullness? Hello, GOD is not a single entity. It doesn’t belong to any religion/population/nation. It’s in reality a choice of belief that the public deserves to make. A religion/belief/cast is never a forced choice. As PK answers in the movie: “there are two God; one is the one who created us and the other is the one who is created by us. And the ‘right number’ is to believe on that God who created us!!!
And one more thing…My eyes truly fills with tears whenever I remember those such beautiful visuals of the two pairs- PK & Jaggu (Aamir Khan & Anushka Sharma) and Sarfraz Yousuf & Jaggu (Sushant Singh Rajput & Anushka Sharma), sharing the grace & joy of the very feeling of ‘true love’ beyond religious/national/ideological boundaries.

Once again, I’m well impressed with the perfectionist performance of Aamir Khan with his complete dedication sprayed out through even the subtle gestures & mannerisms of the character PK. Also a big hug for Anushka Sharma for such matured & loving acting as Jagat Janani (Jaggu)!!!

Looking forward for more brave attempts inspired from the journey of PK, celebrating the beauty of art in the age of mechanical reproduction.
